CABBIES SEND OFF COMPLAINTS

Taxi drivers in Hemel Hempstead have sent a list of complaints against Dacorum Council to a watchdog.

The Hemel Hempstead Taxi Drivers' Association says it has not received a satisfactory response to all its complaints and it has has now referred the remainder to the local government ombudsman.

Issues lodged include complaints over the lack of taxi access to the new Riverside complex. The list also includes complaints over the way the council has dealt with licensing, taxi ranks and MOT tests.

Thats why the courts said lack of taxi rank space is not a valid reason for restricting licenses, because the problem lay with the lazy councils who won't provide rank space. But rest assured the best practice guidance will reiterate what the courts stated. In the meantime, I might just send a letter to the Hemel Hempstead Ombudsman myself. lol
