No more detail here on the 'aggressive behaviour' than the first time round.
But at least the thread title doesn't need changed - he's just lost an appeal at a higher court
Taxi driver accused of aggressive and inappropriate behaviour loses appeal to regain licencehttps://www.bristolpost.co.uk/news/loca ... te-3213643Former taxi driver Erkan Kutuk appealed the council's decision twiceA former taxi driver from Weston-super-Mare who was stripped of his licence after complaints about aggressive and inappropriate behaviour has lost an appeal to regain it.
North Somerset Council had received several complaints about the behaviour of cab driver Erkan Kutuk of Saxby Close, Worle.
Mr Kutuk was referred to the council’s licensing committee in January 2019.
After hearing evidence, councillors decided that he was not “fit and proper” to hold a licence and revoked it
Mr Kutuk appealed the decision, resulting in a magistrates court hearing in April.
The magistrates dismissed the appeal and agreed Mr Kutuk was not suitable to hold a licence.
However Mr Kutuk then appealed to Bristol Crown Court, but on Friday (August 9) this appeal was also dismissed by a judge.
During the hearing Mr Kutuk was also ordered to pay North Somerset Council £2,000 in costs.
Cllr Mike Bell, the executive member with responsibility for licensing, said: “We will not tolerate any inappropriate or aggressive behaviour from licensed drivers.
“The licence process, which includes fully enhanced DBS checks, is there to ensure that people using taxis feel safe, secure and comfortable.
“Anything less than this will not be tolerated in the interest of public safety and rogue drivers will be taken off the road.”
