do it then

the fallback is "estimated"

There is no mention of it being an estimated fare in the original posting, a hackney carriage CANNOT charge more than metered fare within its licensing district this includes contracts.

We have HC in our firm who do fares with are more than Meyer been here doing for centuries also contracts as well which are more than metered price.

No one has ever batted a eye lid

Think someone maybe telling untruths or L/A does not enforce the LAW as they should (micky mouse licensing authority)

However old he is I still suspect he is doing 80 hours a week.

12 hours on the road total a day including breaks
Mondays to Saturdays

I know of some drivers in MK who are on the road 18+ hours 7 days a week and some who work friday morning till the early hours of sunday non stop (obviously taking time out for breaks in between)

Until the day a customer gets wind of their journey costing more than it should and they make a formal complaint WITH evidence

Not uncommon.

The question is, if they are on a circuit, why their data units allow this? :-k

Surely it's not beyond the wit and wisdom of the data head programmers to alter that to ensure sufficient rest periods are taken? Should there be a serious accident both the driver and operator could be in serious trouble.

The function is available now, and has been for years.

The problem is no operator ever uses it as they want as many drivers out as possible, especially the unsociable hours.

thereby opening themselves up to all sorts of claims should one of their over-tired drivers have a serious accident. Corporate manslaughter charges are on the up these days. remember the double deck S bus that crashed into Sainsburys in Coventry a couple of years ago? The directors of the company were in the dock for that.

I have lost count the number of times I have rang up the owner or the manager of the firm I work with asking them why they have given long distance work to drivers who have already been working for 12-15 hours. #-o

In all fairness they always re-issue, but I time will come when the job does get issued to Mr Sleepy, the worst happens and the bosses get a visit from the police.
