On Facebook there's a forum called The Real Romney Marsh. This weekend there's a rave at Lydd Airport One bright spark, a Linda Marsh is proudly advertising on that group that she's going to be charging for using her 7 seater giving lifts to all and sundry who want to phone her up.

"If you can't get a taxi to and from connected sat night give me a shout on +447548068439 I'll be doing lifts up there and back through out the night". In a later reply she says "of course it ain't for free babes, I'll be charging".. The local licencing office is now aware.

People advertise like that because they believe they can get away with it, and more often than not they do.

That said personally I couldn't imagine anything worse than taking, and picking up, a load of 'off their heads' idiots to and from a rave.

Haha, I always associate him with QPR, though, would never have even guessed he played for Man City.

In fact according to Wiki he made 211 appearances for QPR, but just 118 for Man City, so even in my blissful ignorance I'm 'on the ball' about that

I heard "from a friend" who is a hack in Folkestone that the LO has had 3 emails about this lady's proposed law-breaking and they have phoned her as she kindly gave her number out on the internet. And the LO may well be on site long with some uniformed assistance.

The LO put a note on the local FB page warning the punters not to use unlicenced cars.

One problem with London Airport Ashford (aka Lydd) is that there is only one road in and out of the place, so once you're in you ain't gonna get out for a long time. It's a single track road! The main approach road is a B road, off a reasonable A road from ashford, some 17 miles away, but the airport is actually in the Folkestone licencing area so Ashford cars shouldn't be there ranking for business. It's about the same distance from Folkestone where the nearest radio cars are likely to be.

In the locality there's about 6 private hire owner-operators with no radio control and one local hackney.
