I received some sad news today regarding Eddie Lambert, a fellow writer in the now defunct taxitalk magazine who passed away in recent days.

Eddie was a stalwart of the London Cab Trade and a member of the T&G before leaving them to join the RMT.

Sad news.

Was one of the fellas who actually tried to change things for the better, as opposed to the ones who sit in the cab all day and moan, yet do f*** all about it.

Again, never met the bloke, but there are so many people out there (unnoticed, largely) trying their best to further the trade.
RIP.

Eddie was great comrade spoke to him recently and he was upbeat about Brexit and the certainty of Corbyn winning the coming General election to quote him "Johnson will do a Churchill he will win the war [brexit] and then get hammerd in the general election" yes Eddie was a long time Labour Party member and active within it..............and of course a dedicated Trade Unionist and follower of the Posh a caring comrade who could always be counted on to support all good causes.

He died on saturday 19th Oct he was driving a Mercedes sprinter bus on a rural disabled bus service and helped a disabled woman to her front door and collapsed on her drive walking back to the bus ......................so typical of Eddie dying whilst performing an act of kindness........RIP COMRADE !
