Interesting so they are allowed to refuse guide dogs in prison then :-k

Blind sex offender cannot take guide dog to prison

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-manchester-50975666

Nellies, who arrived at court with his guide dog Digby, was told prison rules meant he would not be able to have the dog in jail with him.

Instead, the labrador will be retrained to help another blind person.

"I have the greatest concern that a man who for five years has had the benefit of a guide dog, giving him his freedom and mobility, will be taken into an environment which is wholly unfamiliar," said Nellies' barrister Rachel Shenton.

She added she did not wish to downplay the effect of Nellies' behaviour on the victim, but "prison for him will have a devastating impact".

And the devastating impact on his victim? I’m sure Leroy will look after him.

I wasn't referring so much to the hardship on him he deserves what he gets it was more the point that under the DDA prisons are allowed to discriminate

Well it all kicked off outside my house on Wednesday, I was in Spain at the time. I live opposite a primary school and a couple pulled up to pick up the woman's kids from the school. However a couple of chaps that were picking their kids up recognised the man she was with as a child rapist who got a 13 year old girl pregnant when he raped her. this happened in 2010 and is well documented in the local papers. The chaps name is Marcus Snedden for anyone who wants to look it up. when confronted the chap, who was still in the car, panicked and drove off and ran into 4 parked cars as he did so. The police were called and they eventually managed to arrest him for breaching his release conditions. Now the ironic thing is that this chap has changed his name to hide his identity, he has changed it to Andi Faulkner which just happens to be the name of my heroin addict son. Facebook was full of it some thinking it was my son but my youngest son, Mark, soon managed to put them straight because my son Andi is in Lincoln prison at the moment. I hope you are all keeping up. It turns out that the woman he was with used to belong to one of the groups that searched for and exposed paedophiles and it turs out that this Marcus Snedden also has a brother with rape convictions and so does his dad and his step dad. Talk about keeping it in the family. Anyway the local vigilante group are now trying to get hold of any or all of them but the police have Marcus in custody and the rest of the family have been moved for their own safety.
I'm glad I came back last night.

Not much happens here but when it does...………….
For the life of me I can't understand why a convicted rapist would change his name to that of a known heroin addict. Not much of an improvement is it?

possibly because the name he picked was of someone not currently living in the Melton area ?

Apart from when he is staying in one of the Queens hotels my lad has lived in Melton all his life and has been a heroin addict for at least the last 15 years and is very well known in the area. This chap changed his name at least 2 years ago.

I have just been reading about an explosion at a petrochemical plant just outside Tarragona in Spain. Looking at google maps it is in the same place as a similar explosion that happened on election night in June 1987. We were on the first night of our first family holiday abroad and staying in a hotel just north of Salou. It was one hell of an explosion and the resulting fire was so big that it looked like it was just up the road. It turned out to be about 15 kilometres away.
Fancy it happening again.
