It's something that I would argue, should the need arise (0% chance), but saloon taxis take wheelchairs.

The DfT approval for the Nottingham WAV exemption signs can be seen via the following link.

The actual signs are at the bottom of the document, but the verbiage and legalese in the first few pages is jaw-dropping :-o

All that over a few signs, which are only slightly different from the norm.

Which means where ever they are licensed all wheelchair accessible Taxis may use them but not private hire vehicles.

Correct, it also means that saloon Hackneys from areas such as Gedling or Rushcliffe can't use them.
