I have had an email from LCC regarding bus runs but not taxis. For school busses they are paying 100% up until the end of the school year in July if the schools are closed until then. Our demand responsive transport runs will only be paid if we carry out the run which is as expected.

Yes, school busses are covered, no mention of taxis either school, social care or special needs.

I keep asking and all I get is a decision will be made soon. Today's response was "an email will be sent soon."

Part of the latest email received today at 17.23

The position statement released yesterday does NOT apply to Special Education Needs (SEN) or mainstream school or social care taxi contracted services. Further communication on the County Council’s position regarding SEN and mainstream school and social care taxi contracts will be provided to you as soon as possible. Please do NOT take any action on these until further notice from the Council. The information on DRT services remains accurate i.e. normal contractual arrangements and payments.

Whilst we appreciate this is not an ideal situation we have a duty to ensure that transport is provided for these children. We are aware that some of you may be experiencing staffing issues due to sickness or self-isolation and want to reassure you that we are working as quickly as possible to determine the routes that need to continue to operate at this time. Please inform us as soon as possible if you are unable to operate any routes.

The operator will trouser the money because, in essence, you haven't done the work.

One of the conditions of the payment will be that the person doing the work gets paid for the work. They can come and inspect your accounts and they will be checking.

payments made (if paid) will be minus rents for car and/or PDA/Radio

(Owner drivers).......£400/week school minus £80 pda = good

(car renters)..........£250/week school vs £350/week car = hand the car in
