I wonder how much they owe the trade?

The way I read it the refunds they have had to make has cleared them out.

Tip - the name Shearings rung a bell, but I Googled it in a couple of seconds to find out what precisely it did. Which is probably quicker for most of us than typing an enquiry on here.

And you don't have to wait an hour or two for a reply either

well plenty of people who use them where woolly jumpers

Another source of work gone although I used to hate having to get up extra early to take someone half a mile up the road to the bus stop where they were due to be picked up

Thing is there is a market for these holidays, so it won't be long until someone else starts up and you will get your early morning work back.

Lolz - I was thinking insurance for a few seconds before Googling it.

But I've seen their coaches around, and that's probably here in St Andrews where many day trippers arrive in coaches and clog up the streets.

So Shearings one reason I tend to avoid working days

But lack of tourists here more generally will probably mean a lot of local businesses going to the wall. Might include me unless this grant extension is approved soon [-o<

Shearings, National Holidays,Wallace Arnold, a whole holiday package firm, maybe the biggest in the UK.

Taxis and 8 seat minibuses were used for a lot of feeder services to their coach pick-up points. They also owned a couple of hotel chains.

I doubt there will be many if any takers for their business as the whole coach industry is on the verge of collapse at the moment. Luckily I sold my small bus operating company in January so got out just in time!

Wasn't the old Melrose Hydro one of the Hotels that was something to do with shearings being closed permanently?
