Some of the independent hackneys have been earning as low as £40 a shift, thankfully I've been doing a fair bit better than that.

But it's still grim and I'm not sure things are going to get much better in the coming months.

But I'm glad you're back.

My drivers are struggling to get £40 in 8 hours but some of the Independents reckon they are managing £40 to £60 a day

It does make me wonder if anyone, anyone at all, who is locked in to a finance deal is going to survive this meltdown. When an owner driver has finance of £500 plus per month, and an income of the same amount or less, how are they going to survive?

And of course those with mortgages as well  one of my drivers has been trying for 3 months to get a mortgage payment holiday but has only just got it starting in July so his SEIS grant plus earnings got swallowed and he is 1200 in the red at this point although his finances are always a bit shaky not helped by the fact they have just had another baby recently.

Not much work at Central Milton Keynes station cabs waiting but just no passengers same with the The centre MK currently 7am-5pm averaging £20-30.

In March I nearly treated my self to a brand new Merc, would have cost me about £800 a month and a big fat deposit.

Absolutely gorgeous motor, but by f*** am I glad I didn't buy it then.
