I’m biased towards the Merc but most on here would choose the superb. Both are good cars but the Merc is expensive when things go wrong. Non genuine parts just don’t seem to last either.

Depends on the type of work you do. If you are aiming for the chauffeur or business end of the market I’d choose the Merc, if it’s just normal punters I’d choose the superb. Both are very good cars, I’d keep an open mind and just find the best example of either one and buy it.

had both

Superb cabin is bigger, taller/wider with better legroom

E200 looks the bizz

My E250 had:-
Staggered wheels
Low profile tyres
Air suspension
Foot operated parking brake

and those were BAD points!

Im on my 4th Superb, ideal for the job, VW running gear (Golf mainly) and great MPG
putting 4 new Dunlops on this week, £60 each, make em last 35,000 miles

The mercs tyres wore out monthly

Seek out a superb 4x4 and you'll leave any Merc behind in the white stuff and as for reliability the Superbs are pretty much faultless.

Micheline all season tyres last longer swap front to back half way and you can get 50K

Their problem is they last to long and even though their tread is great their side walls weaken and the car handles like jelly on a plate.

Not when the backs and fronts are different rim widths and profiles me duck

("Staggered" as they call it)
