Am in the midst of trying to get quotes for insurance renewal. Everyone I have approached has asked me what am I expecting to pay ? Normally i get asked what i have already been quoted.

Even my existing insurer has asked me what am I expecting to pay not telling me what the existing insurers have quoted.

This is unusual and I am worried because it suggests they are fishing for a price I am willing to pay not quoting an asking price

Anybody else coming across this ?

I had it last year. My insurance is due in 4 weeks. I will let you know what happens.

Is that good or bad?

As I said a few weeks ago, my premium down this year.

Wasn't aware of any change in the procedure, but just a question of uploading photos of all my documents this year - normally I call into the office with my documents, and they'll print out my new certificate etc there and then, but different this year because of you-know-what.

With hindsight, don't really think there's any point in quoting precise figures because of the amount of factors involved in providing a quote, but definitely a lower premium in my case.

(Hint - maybe a good idea for people to use more descriptive thread titles so it's easier to find them again. Had it in my head that it was grandad who started this thread, so spent several minutes looking for it before finding the right one

As for Wanna's thread titles :-s )

Both cars insured on a joint policy for just under £1900.00....about the same as last year.

Been very lucky though. not had an insurance claim in years (fingers Crossed).

My INSURANCE was £1000 but my protection for NCB/excess/breakdown/PL brought it upto £1300
