well that didn't take long ;how many days back ?

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-sussex-54042494

Two school classes are self-isolating after two days of term because a teaching assistant has coronavirus.

The member of staff at Cardinal Newman school in Hove was contacted by track and trace on Thursday and told on Friday they had tested positive.

Principal Claire Jarman alerted parents on Friday and 45 pupils in two Year 7 classes were affected by the news.

Chairman of governors Geri Silverstone said the school was doing all it could to keep pupils and staff safe.

Four year groups returned to school last week, with the whole cohort due back on Monday.

Are they seriously expecting they'll turn up !

I hope so.

Do we not go to hospital as many NHS staff got the bug?

Do we not go to the supermarket if some staff get the bug?

Two schools in Lincolnshire have asked pupils and staff to self-isolate after outbreaks of Covid-19.
Thirty children were sent home after a staff member at The Holt Primary School, in Skellingthorpe, near Lincoln, tested positive on Friday.

Meanwhile, an entire year group and four members of staff from The King's School in Grantham have been asked to self-isolate.

and if that isn't close enough

Three cases of coronavirus affecting pupils at the Stamford Endowed Schools have been confirmed.

Pupils returned to the school today (September 7) following new health and safety measures.

Hannah Hamilton, the school's director of development and external relations, said: "All current guidelines are being rigorously adhered to, including isolation for those involved, and we have been in contact with Public Health England.

although the word locally is that it is 4 tested positive

You really are turning into the private Fraser of TDO. “We’re doomed i tell ye! Doomed!” If you test more people, the more positive results that are going to show. Are you enjoying this? Am I having a go at you? You betcha! You seem to enjoy putting the willies up people.

It does appear that if you catch it in warmer months it is less deadly. It also appears to not affect younger people with healthier lungs much at all.

I have a feeling though that this is going to be the lull before the storm because with so many now infected (more than 1 percent of the population in many parts of the world ) the second wave could be much bigger although we are now better prepared and have some treatments available.

Scammers on social media who claim to work for the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency are selling "full driving licences" for £600, a BBC News investigation has found.
They claim to have inside access to driving test centres which allows them to book and pass practical driving tests without clients being present.
The Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency - which has responsibility for driving tests - said that was not possible.
They are money-making scams, it said.

Worrying to think how many might be driving cars on the road with these

obviously not taxis/PH because of the check code system

this is so funny

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-oxfordshire-54310800

Alcohol spray used on a football club's coach to kill coronavirus left its driver unable to take players and staff to an away match.

Oxford United had to change at their hotel and travel to their game at Accrington Stanley by car.
It is thought some of the spray in the air was picked up by a device that stops the coach driver starting the vehicle if they have drunk alcohol.

The club started the game at the bottom of League One on Saturday.

Karl Robinson, the club's head coach, told BBC Radio Oxford before the match: "Our coach has just broken down so we've just had to get changed at the hotel and make our way.

the more complicated you make things the more they are likely to fail !

One has to wonder how busy the good guys would be if the trade had alcohol and drugs detectors as part of the ignition process.

We would all be rich. :D

Man and huge snake seen in Ship Street, Brighton

https://www.theargus.co.uk/news/1875714 ... -brighton/

Image

POLICE were called to a city centre street after reports of a man taking a huge snake for a walk.

The enormous reptile was spotted in Ship Street, Brighton, at about 2.30pm.

Police were called to the scene amid concern for the welfare of the snake, which is thought to be either a reticulated or Burmese python.

The man is thought to have asked them if they would have stopped to speak to him if he were walking a dog

Officers told him it was "a different situation" and encouraged him to return home with the snake.

Erik Selby, who runs a video production company, couldn't believe his eyes when he spotted the snake, which he estimates was about 12-foot long.

Erik, 30, said: "From the office you could see something was happening - to be fair, a lot happens in Ship Street.

"I came out of the building while I was on my lunch break and someone said, 'there's a snake just down the street'.

"Everyone was looking at something.

"At first I didn't think I could see it, I was looking for a small, little thing.

"I saw the large yellow shape on the floor but glanced over it thinking that couldn't be it - but it turned out it was.

"When you see something like that in a city environment which you are so used to and you usually know what to expect it''s quite surprising, like seeing a celebrity.

"It just seems out of place."

Police officers were seen speaking to the man in possession of the snake.

They escorted him back to his car, which was parked nearby.

The man was then seen to drive away.

Sussex Police said: "Police were called to Ship Street in Brighton at 2.35pm following concern for the welfare of a large snake that was being carried in the street.

"It was reported that the snake had been dropped to the ground and been used for filming, with people being invited to hold it.

"The young man with the snake agreed to return it to his car and was escorted back to his vehicle."
