Oxford taxi driver punched and bitten on ear in assault

Image

A TAXI driver was punched and bitten on the ear in two separate attacks.

At about 6.40pm on July 25, the victim, a man in his thirties, was attacked by two men, who were passengers in his taxi.

The driver was taking the men to shops in London Road, Headington when there was a dispute over the fare.

The driver was then punched and bitten on the ear, before the passengers got out the taxi by the Co-op store.

Following the attack, the victim drove off from the scene and returned a short while later.

He was further assaulted by the men.

He sustained injuries to his head and hand, and required treatment at hospital.

Investigating officer PC Leah Pullin, based at Oxford police station, said: “I believe the man in this image may have vital information that could help our investigation.

“If you witnessed this incident or have any information, or if you recognise this man or believe it could be you, please get in touch.

“You can make a report online or by calling 101 and quoting reference 43200228956.

“Alternatively, if you wish to remain 100 per cent anonymous you can call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
