Mum left in awe of random taxi driver's kind gesture that 'saved her'

An NHS worker hailed the "amazing" kindness of a taxi driver who helped her out of a predicament.

Bridget Draisey, a community occupational therapist, was out on visits yesterday (Monday, November 16) when she locked herself out of her car.

She phoned for a private taxi to take her to her next visit. But when it had not arrived after 25 minutes she managed to flag down a white Liverpool City Council hackney cab.

Bridget said: "He took me to my next visit, waited and returned me to my car where my son was waiting to give me the spare key.

"I was about to get into my car and fetch my purse to pay the driver and he said he didn't want any payment and was just trying to help out.

"This taxi driver saved me from a very stressful situation and enabled me to visit a patient who was waiting for my services."

Bridget added: "His kindness went above and beyond what I would expect anyone to do and I owe him a great debt of gratitude. What a star!

"His cab number was 738. My son's friend also gave my son a lift to drop the spare key off and when I tried to reimburse him for his petrol money as he is s student, he wouldn't take any money either.

"People are amazing sometimes."
