SO here it is...

...as the song goes

Well it's been a bad year for most of us so I think I can safely say we will all be glad to see the back of it!

I suppose now is the time to look to the future and make a Christmas wish

Mine would be for half the taxis locally to pack up and go and do something else for a living so that next year there will be enough work left for the rest of us

Merry Christmas every one and hopefully a more prosperous new year

And, no doubt, the other half hope you will pack up. So it goes.

But I think there will be an increase in taxi ph numbers when people have no job to go to, and set out to make a small fortune in the taxi trade. And we all know how to make a small fortune, don’t we?
That’s right, you start out with a large fortune. It’s the end of the world as we know it in 2021.

I'm not so sure.

To get licensed costs a significant amount, even in areas that have low entry criteria.

And now the endless supply of Eastern Europeans has ended, I feel quietly confident the existing trade will have a good 2021, and a much better secure future from 2022 onwards.

It will take a long time to return to what we call normal but those who have managed to weather this storm will reap the rewards that will come.
I cannot see the fleets of vehicles increasing in the new year but actually would not be surprised if there was a decrease in licensed vehicles.

Merry Christmas and a happy, healthy prosperous New Year.
Take care and stay safe everyone.

Poem courtesy of Mr T, via Mr Sussex's clerical services.

Xmas Poem. T’was a month before Christmas,
And all through the town,
People wore masks,
That covered their frown.
The frown had begun
Way back in the Spring,
When a global pandemic
Changed everything.
They called it corona,
But unlike the beer,
It didn’t bring good times,
It didn’t bring cheer.
Contagious and deadly,
This virus spread fast,
Like a wildfire that starts
When fueled by gas.
Airplanes were grounded,
Travel was banned.
Borders were closed
Across air, sea and land.
As the world entered lockdown
To flatten the curve,
The economy halted,
And folks lost their nerve.
From March to July
We rode the first wave,
People stayed home,
They tried to behave.
When summer emerged
The lockdown was lifted.
But away from caution,
Many folks drifted.
Now it’s November
And cases are spiking,
Wave two has arrived,
Much to our disliking.
Frontline workers,
Doctors and nurses,
Try to save people,
From riding in hearses.
This virus is awful,
This COVID-19.
There isn’t a cure.
Too early for vaccine.
It’s true that this year
Has had sadness a plenty,
We’ll never forget
The year 2020.
And just ‘round the corner -
The holiday season,
But why be merry?
Is there even one reason?
To decorate the house
And put up the tree,
When no one will see it,
No-one but me.
But outside my window
The snow gently falls,
And I think to myself,
Let’s deck the halls!
So, I gather the ribbon,
The garland and bows,
As I play those old carols,
My happiness grows.
Christmas ain’t cancelled
And neither is hope.
If we lean on each other,
I know we can cope

Sorry I wasn't quick enough for you Edders.

Merry Christmas to all of you, and a Happy New Year.

It's a bit early for most of you, but just for Edders, Happy Easter too.

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you all. It's been a shitter of a year for all Self-Employed, I don't think 2021 will be any better in fact I think it will make 2020 look like a walk in the park, I hope to god I'm wrong but, looking at it from an NHS perspective they are gearing up for COVID-21, they are closing hospitals to the general public and using them as step-down hospitals for the OAP's from nursing homes. Theaters have been closed and operations canceled until March of next year. It's going to be grim in 2021

Not sure if it's going to be quite so merry this Christmas, so I'll just say hope you all have a good one and that things will get better for all in the coming year. You all take care.

Bill :)

Its been an awful year for all workers, employed and self employed and i thinks things will get worse in the next couple of months. I have taken advantage of the covid situation and bought myself a plate as the prices are falling due to noone willing to rent . I hope i made the right decision .

Best of luck everyone . Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year.
