Hi all,

Thought I'd drop in and say hello - I'm the (reasonably) proud owner of a 2005 TX2 with only 350k on the clock that I picked up from a local London cabby who has replaced it with something newer...and not out of date.

I'm a bit of a petrolhead and at last count have owned about 50 cars (not all at the same time obvs), and always fancied buying a cab as a spacious family weekend runabout - happy to get my hands dirty and restore her to (some of) her former glory, so I've got a few technical queries as I'm well out of my comfort zone.

Just replaced the N/S steering idler arm this morning which was surprisingly painless (the only MOT fail) and she's in now being ticketed - looking forward to getting out and about!

Cheers all :D

MPG will be the worst you have ever had.

Might be an idea to put a tow bar on the back so you can pull a fuel tanker should you go any distance.

Best advice I could give you, Rip the Ford unit out and put the Nissan 2.7 back in! (If you can find a decent one .) :D

I dunno, I used to have a 1970s T2 Campervan...never got out of the mid-high teens for mpg...besides, you're a long time dead!

Good luck,my first early tx2(manual) was actually quite economical (52 plate) but,my later 55 plate (automatic) was a drinker.overall as a working cab I wouldn't touch one again but, maybe as family runaround you could enjoy it.
