Two women passengers sought after Black Hackney Carriage hit and run in Worcesterhttps://www.worcesternews.co.uk/news/19 ... worcester/Police are appealing for witnesses following a hit and run in Worcester city centre this month.West Mercia Police are urging witnesses to come forward regarding a crash on Foregate Street on July 1, when a taxi crashed in to a cyclist and fled the scene.
The hit and run, which happened at 11.30pm, left the cyclist with a "serious" knee injury.
The appeal said: "At around 11.30pm on Thursday 1 July 2021 a cyclist has been using the cycle lane on Foregate Street, Worcester, when he has been hit by a black Hackney Carriage style taxi cab at the junction with Pierpoint Street.
"The taxi has failed to stop at the scene of the collision and has been seen to drive off at speed with the bicycle still under its wheels. The cyclist suffered a serious knee injury"
The police has encouraged any witnesses or anyone who may have CCTV or dashcam footage of the incident to come forward with information they may have.
They said officers are particularly keen to identify two females believed to be in the taxi at the time of the collision.
