Can you not buy them already converted?

Some of the lads use this firm to convert from normal to WAV, but I’m not sure if they only do VWs.

Or it might have been this firm.

https://fastline-autoglazing.co.uk/

Although the link is for glass, the firm also do conversions.

extra £5000 for 1 WAV job a month makes sense...

and it takes 30 minutes to load, 30 to unload and a hernia for free pushing the chair up the ramps

Some areas insist on WAVs for hackneys.

But I think the reasoning behind the request is that it is considerably cheaper to buy a standard vehicle, be it short or long wheelbase, and get someone to convert it to a WAV, rather than buy a ready-made WAV from one of the current suppliers.

Two fellas I know have saved £1000s doing it that way.

Obviously I know Plymouth and London, I think Coventry, Liverpool and at least some parts of Manchester.
Is there an actual list anywhere of 100% WAV Hackney LA's?

The DfT have a 100% WAV section on their taxi/PH stats pages.

Think the stats you are on about can be found on the taxi0102, taxi0103, and taxi0104 spreadsheets.

My mate has a WAV, he puts the ramps down and refuses to push 150kg of deadweight up them whilst a carer stands and watches

no SSP in this game
