..according to Wednesdays Daily Telegraph, the DfT is considering scrapping the rich mans subsidy on electric cars, and shifting the funding towards TAXIS, and “taxis” to turn the country’s hire fleets all electric. Which probably means a £5,000 grant towards a £66,000. Vehicle.

£5,000 no, but £50,000 might swing it for most, however if you can still afford the £61,000 balance then you really don't need a subsidy in the first place.

If they tell me I have to buy a £60000 vehicle I'll jack it in and go and drive a lorry or work in a nursing home for a few years till retirement

think I'll buy a ticket for tomorrow nights draw [-o<

They would only be £60,000 plus in areas that insist on WAVs.

In other areas they would be £30-40,000. Still crazy but with a £10,000 grant I might be interested.

Well...I shouldnt comment as they don't control this part of the UK's Taxi/Ph regs.
