Obviously slow news day for the Stamford Mercury. And slow crime day for Lincs Police, presumably :-s

Teenagers refused to pay taxi fare after travelling from Peterborough to Stamford

Police are investigating after two teenagers refused to pay their taxi fare.

An investigation is ongoing after a taxi driver reported bilking, where two teenage passengers would or could not pay for their taxi.

The two teenage girls had travelled from Peterborough to Stamford on Saturday night (January 22).

from Peterborough TO Stamford so is this Cambridgeshire police investigating ? I would be very surprised if it is Lincolnshire

Man 'trying to entice children into car' was taxi driver on legitimate business in Billingborough

A police case sparked by a man seen 'trying to entice children into a car' has been dropped after he was found to be a taxi driver.

The man in a Mercedes in High Street, Billingborough, on Tuesday (January 25), was carrying out legitimate work, having been booked for a school run.

A spokesman for Lincolnshire Police thanked people for getting in touch.

sounds about right from round here

During lockdown I went for a long walk on my way back I paused for a couple of minutes on the bridge over the A1 (nice handy crash barrier to sit on) low and behold about 6 different people stopped their cars assuming I was someone trying to jump !

Maybe the vehicles needs some proper signage.
