Why not ask an insurer?

I think this was touched on by a member the other day when they said something about you not being able to insure a vehicle that was not your own when it was being discussed about Dominos insuring their drivers own vehicles, which is why I suggested asking an insurer.

Yes.

But it will depend on the circumstances.

I had a cab rental company fleet of vehicles that was insured by a separate taxi company.

Both the council and insurance company accepted this.

Check with both to make sure you can or cannot.

I don't think they like doing it.

However for a price I suspect someone will, but not if it's a taxi/PH.

The V5 is for the registered keeper not the owner.

Nope it's yours.

Also many councils won't license a vehicle unless the insurance is in the name of the proprietor.

Like I said earlier, ask an insurer. So far you have had a load of contradictory replies.
