Could we list all L/As who have a fuel escalator in operation.

B&H is looking at it, but I think it would be a mistake.

I would rather they just amended the tariff.

Many reasons, but the main reason being the escalator would be the same if you went 100 yards or 100 miles.

Plymouth have it.

"Fuel - to be added to each hiring if and when fuel oil is £1.50 per litre at Home Park Service Station (Outland Road) with a further 10p for each subsequent increase of 10p per litre."

So Fuel is £1.94.7 and we can therefore add 50p on every job.

Not certain, but Plymouth may have been the first place in the Country to have a Fuel Escalator. It has been on every Tariff since.

An interesting mechanism for deciding and communicating the escalator, Chris :-o

The figures don't look significant enough to facilitate much in the way of abuse.

But what's the betting that some drivers will be quick enough to add the escalator when fuel prices are going up, but will plead ignorance when fuel prices are going down :P

What I put in speech marks is a quote from the Table of Fares.

"Fuel - to be added to each hiring if and when fuel oil is £1.50 per litre at Home Park Service Station (Outland Road) with a further 10p for each subsequent increase of 10p per litre."

No doubt as fuel starts to fall in price the odd mistake may be made, when it was rushing up there was the odd mistake by in effect not adding enough.

Despite a Fare increase on January 18 this year, a new Fare increase has been agreed subject to objections. The escalator will start at £1.80 when it comes in. So if it started today, it would already be 20p per job.
