In a one-of-the-kind road trip, a bunch of lads paid a London cab driver £8,000 to drive out of the country.

We've seen some pretty remarkable road trips on TV and social media over the years, and this latest one really does sound like some type of Top Gear challenge.

However, this one wasn't just a challenge as it had a rather special moment right at the end.

The road-tip comes courtesy of US video production team Yes Theory, who had a pretty wild idea for their latest YouTube video.

Teaming up with London black cab driver 'Cockney Reg', the YouTubers had a daring mission in mind.

They wanted to see how far Reg could take them with £8,000, with the journey intended to stop once that total was reached on the taxi meter.

Reg, from East London, has a massive 48 years of experience as a taxi driver and had never ventured out of the UK before, let alone with a customer.

The goal of Yes Theory was to set a record for the 'longest possible cab ride' until the meter reached £8,000.

In the YouTube video, the production team can be heard telling Reg: "[We] had this wild idea of what it would be like to take the longest possible cab ride in an unknown direction and we just keep going until your meter hits ten thousand dollars or eight thousand pounds."

Obviously, the challenge was no mean feat and not every driver would have been accepting of such a task even if it did mean they got to explore new countries.

Luckily, Reg was well up for it - though he used a black cab specifically for the expedition bought by Yes Theory.

So with everything set, the group began the mammoth road trip, leaving London and heading into Europe.

After enjoying some of the beautiful tourist attractions England has to offer, the group journeyed through France before heading into sunny Spain.

They then arrived into Portugal, and while it was tiring, the group made lots of memories along the way.

But the adventure of a lifetime was not over there, as they managed to push into another continent and completed their journey in Morocco.

At the end of the challenge came the heart-warming moment where Reg was given the £8,000 for the journey, with the full group embracing to mark a wonderful trip.

Has the plate been taken off or has it been blacked out?

That said I would be very happy to relieve those fellas of their £8,000.
