"Such a quick jump on the 'legal action' bandwagon in my experience is the action of a large ego that knows they are wrong. Real men can swallow their pride and sort it themselves."
Not sure I agree with this jamesvolunteer. When there is a serious wrong to be righted, like someone deliberately taking private information and publishing it on the internet, perhaps legal redress is the only way to discourage it happening to someone else.
Anyway, no matter. Well done for joining the trade. I wish you well.
Keep your own counsel, keep your own interests in sight and enjoy.
I've always reckoned that the taxi trade is the closest I'll ever get to showbusiness. The great times I've entertaining passengers, and being entertained by them, makes it all worthwhile.
In the microcosm of the taxi, it's amazing how people drop their guard and really open up. The opportunity is there to see a side of humanity most never experience.
I've bee a travel guide, historian, economist, political commentator, agony uncle and social worker - and many other things as well.
There is a down side. I've been subjected to violence and fare dodgers. I now just laugh it off. There's nothing more funny than the site of two bum cheeks swinging from side to side as their owner's legs are pumping to carry them off.
It happens so infrequently, my advice is take the hit, put it to one side and get onto the next fare as quickly as possible.
So jamesvolunteer, welcome to the trade. Enjoy.
