Hi - I am a member or a co-operative - we currently have around 50 taxis and use radio despatch at the moment which to me (and most others) is becoming more and more frustrating as we steadily increase our bookings. Some time ago I looked at the Auriga computerised despatch system which I thought was the dogs doodahs but when put to the other members of our co-operative I was greeted with the usual Taxi Driver kind of moans - It's too expensive - we are not always busy enough to warrant data despatch - it's too complicated - etc etc etc. As taxi drivers I'm sure you know where I'm coming from! Anyway I would like to hear from people in a similar situation to mine who are in a co-op, who have gone to data despatch, the best systems to look at ( and where to see them running), how much extra you paid in subs having installed the system and how you overcame the doubting Thomases, George's, Freddies etc. Many thanks for your help in advance

Steve.

One simple method. Buy them all out and run it yourself.

My advice is

don't buy anything deemed cheap

Visit at least two sites that the salesman hasn't recommended, who use that system.

We all take in and give out bookings so you don't need to focus on co-ops for the system side of things.

How you handle the paranoia, jealousy and dam stupidity is another matter.

I once visited a big co-op in Hove who installed data, but still insisted the despatcher gave the job out by voice, on open channel, and then sent it by data after.

From my experience I have recently put Cordic into my office and I like it. And I like them too.

I'd second that about cordic. They're good people and the system is class leading

Thanks Tom Thumb - I have to say buying them all out would be the perfect senario.

Looking at previous posts am I right in thinking that you changed from Auriga to Cordic?

I did speak to Cordic briefly but first impressions were not good. I may have to go back. I have also arranged a meeting with Autocab for next week so we'll see what they have to say.

One problem I have found is finding out which companies have which systems and where they are - I visited a company who had been with Auriga for many years and thought they were really good, but you are right in that the taxi companies that get recommended to you from the data despatch companies seem few and far between.

Cordic is getting the thumbs up all over at the moment, I have to say I am suprised you are still looking after all this time, were you not told by someone we both know in the business, two years ago Cordic was the best :?:

Or are we confussing you with a different co operative with 50 drivers lets just say south of watford

If we are mistaken please forgive

Hi Eric - I think you have me confused with someone else south of Watford although it may well have taken us more than 2 years to make a decision!

Thanks for the feedback on Cordic.
