LVSA were asked by City of Aberdeen to ask the general public about the current taxi fleet.

The survey found there is no unmet demand for taxis.

Uber can put that in their pipe and smoke it.

I'm not sure Uber wants any more hackneys in Aberdeen than you do.

Actually I am sure, if no more hackneys were issued anywhere in the UK no one would be more happier about that than Uber.

On the other hand, it undermines the Uber/elite business class narrative that there's a huge shortage of 'taxis' in Aberdeen, so from the PR/political perspective it won't help those who want the street knowledge test watered down or abolished, most obviously.

But slightly interesting that the survey found no significant unmet demand for taxis on the one hand, but no private hire overprovision on the other, which is slightly contradictory, and is interesting as regards the HC/PH numbers dynamic, particularly with the one-tier badge system in Aberdeen.

I mean, at a very basic level, if they keep issuing PH plates then it helps maintain the closed HC market :-o
