On the other hand, it undermines the Uber/elite business class narrative that there's a huge shortage of 'taxis' in Aberdeen, so from the PR/political perspective it won't help those who want the street knowledge test watered down or abolished, most obviously.
But slightly interesting that the survey found no significant unmet demand for taxis on the one hand, but no private hire overprovision on the other, which is slightly contradictory, and is interesting as regards the HC/PH numbers dynamic, particularly with the one-tier badge system in Aberdeen.
I mean, at a very basic level, if they keep issuing PH plates then it helps maintain the closed HC market
