"But a history of saying that people shouldn't get plates for nothing, and then asking for a saloon plate from your council, whilst your colleagues (and perhaps fellow T&G members) have to buy WAVs, to me stinks of hypocrisy.
But clearly not to you." quote from SM
Please provide evidence to substanciate this allegation.
I know you have a real problem providing evidence for your accusations so again I won't hold my breath.
So I suppose this allegation is made against me AGAIN. OK then I'll tell tell you AGAIN what actually happened.
We made a request to the council to suspend the issuance of new licenses as in the past 3 years we have seen H/C numbers rise from 87 to 254. The council claimed that they wouldn't do this as they believed their was signifigant un-met demand. We asked for a survey, they said they couldn't afford one, we pointed out that the trade paid £197,760.80 per year in licensing fee's and requested information as to where this money had gone as we had also seen staffing levels drop. They declined to answer. I then discovered that one of the saloon plates had been revoked and had not been re-allocated. I questioned why this plate hadn't been allocated to the person at the top of the H/C saloon plate waiting list as if there was a claimed "un-met demand" the council were indeed adding to it by not re-allocating this plate. I even suggested that this plate be released on a non-transferable basis to allow people waiting on the list an oppertunity to gain a plate free from the council earlier.
It turns out however that the councils waiting list was disposed of when they deregulated numbers on the provision of a WAV and no such list therefore existed so they couldn't re-issue the plate as they didn't know who was top of the list. I requested that the list was saught and the plate was re-issued to the person at the top of the list, they claimed they couldn't as the list no longer existed, I then requested that a new list was formed. This could only be done upon a request from the trade to the licensing committee so I made the request there and then. Exactly how the list would be reformed was never discussed and we are still awaiting committee time to discuss this issue.
Now what happened was certain people assumed that because I had made the request I was insisting that the plate was given to me, not true, I just wanted the plate to be re-issued to the person who had waited, in good faith for the longest.
SM your hatred for me and the T&G is well known, so to claim some of the statements you have rewcently made are untrue is total bollocks. The Guests who have commented on your conduct are well founded in their requests but your responses will never ever be heard on here as basically you are a self centred [edited by admin].
