Can't understand why they didn't get it right by saying exactly what he is/was i.e. A bogus 'Taxi Driver'.

Simple, in London Taxi drivers drive Taxis, do the knowledge, and once in every two decades someone may commit a crime and get in the news.

The other side are Minicabs, drive cars, and . . . you know the rest.

I think it's more of a sad reflection on the London cab trade.

The bloke is more of a bogus cab driver than a bogus minicab driver (if it's possible to be a bogus of something that doesn't exist), but telling the truth on the front page of 'Taxi' mag is alas a rare event.

A tad sad when the local press know a little bit more about the cab trade than the trade version.

So how precisely would an objective person know whether a bogus driver is can be best described as taxi or PH/minicab?

I'm surprised that GBC concludes the latter, since he's always accusing them of shouting 'taxee, taxee'!

Don't think so. Must have been a bogus PH driver, doing 110mph?

Well I seem to recall that you once claimed that you had NEVER broken the speed limit jimbo, but I know plenty of taxi drivers who do. And one or two of them have bragged to me about doing the ton on 60mph roads.

Not possible. (in a metrocab.) Why don't I speed? with a decent fare scale, there's no need.

Hear Hear.

I'm never in a hurry, either with a fare on board or in between jobs.

No base or address to rush back to in case someone else takes the work.

Nice. :D

Thats why its a tough being part of the worlds best.

I confess. I nearly got up to 70mph in my Metrocab once. With the wind behind me, down hill, on the M11.
