The thing is I get similar letters about my empty house but the rules on declaring the house not requiring a license have been tightened up. If they ever bothered to call they could see that apart from a few bits of furniture stored at the house it is empty but they never bother. If they had they would see.
I am told that all these letters are sent by the company who has the contract to recover unpaid licenses and they spend £10's of millions of pounds a year sending them
The cost of all that adds about £10 a year onto every license but it's all kept very hush hush to prevent anyone actually finding the true figure
