An even less direct reference than usual in the headline to this on the Hampshire Police news release, then the opening paragraph simply says a 'man' was racially abused, and it's only in the following paragraph when the taxi angle is introduced.

Anyway, not difficult to ID this guy from the image if anyone knows him :-o

And not sure if the description adds much to it all either, assuming anyone has seen the photo. Except the tattoos, most obviously, but I'd guess if anyone who knows him sees the photo then the fact that he has tats isn't going to help much...

Do you know him?

We are appealing for information following a report that a man was racially abused in Warsash.

Image

It was reported to us that between 1:20am and 1:45am on Sunday 5 July a taxi driver was verbally and racially abused by a passenger after picking up a group of three people in the Brook Avenue area of Warsash

We are now sharing an image of a man who we believe may be able to assist with our enquiries into the incident.

The man we would like to speak to is described as,

    • White

    • Between 30-years-old to 40-years-old

    • Medium build

    • With braded hair, shaved on the sides

    • The man had tattoos on his arms and neck

If you have any information about this incident, including whether you might know the man from the description given, then please call us on 101, quoting the crime reference number 44260318870.

Alternatively, you can call Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111, or report via their website, below:

And, entirely predictably, the Daily Echo rehash includes the term 'taxi driver' in both the headline and opening paragraph :-o

Image released after taxi driver racially abused in Warsash

Police are investigating the alleged racial abuse of a taxi driver in Warsash.

And, for what it's worth, the image above is from the Daily Echo's piece - this is the original Hampshire Police image and graphic, and too big to display on here:
