Mr NTD the problem is that drivers are quite reticent in telling the world their actual earnings.

But a clue to the issue, as to the viability of the London black cab trade, is the fact that it takes 3 years to do the KOL, and once got not many leave until they retire or die.

I think that says it all.

Thanks Sussex, you've answered my question.

Do you think that everyone can get through the knowledge exams if they persist, or is it a case of only some can pass them?

They do seem extremely tough I must say. I also read that only 25% of those who try the 'Knowledge' actually make it to the end and 75% drop out!

If Mr GBC can get through it, then you should p*** it. 8-[

First of all greenbadge caddy, minicabbing never really appealed to me because they can't pick people of the streets and that is a real advantage. Also why would I need to learn languages? I speak Spanish and French already :)

they should get rid of the knowledge for PH drivers or at least make it that you only have to part pass it.
I took it last thurs and passed 5 sections , failed 3 sections. Need to go back this thurs to sit them 3 sections again.

What does everyone else think ?
Should PH drivers have to sit the knowledge ?
This is in liverpool btw , i know you dont have to do it in london

If you pass I suspect you will change your view, because no test would mean more drivers, thus less earnings for everyone.
