Here’s an even bigger laugh Mrs Saltei doesn’t even have a brief.

One hundred and ten still on the “interested parties list” waiting for 15 years not to get one.

Now that’s funny.

What a bunch of numptys.

What's funnier is, if she doesn't have a brief, she canny have a plate, better get incorporated soon, and get a brief holder into the incorporated entity. Canny be the same one as her husband has, as he might want to sell his legal entity soon

Selfish mercanaries - kind of sums up some of the Edinburgh posters on this board       :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

wow it never ceases to amaze me how poorly informed the edinburgh trade is.

what on earth makes you think you need a brief to hold a taxi operators licence ?
is that a fruedian slip. i never said nowt about the playhouse rank
and why the intrest in me dick

Ahhhh - so what your sayin is Mr Salteri has already incorporated so he can sell his "plate"

A slip of some kind I'm sure. In order to incorporate, one party of the incorporation MUST be a brief holder. Read the regs ya wannabe lawyer. That's there to stop companies with no interest at all from buying up plates.

Get it through yer thick feckin heid - I don't own a plate, never have, never will. So no easy profiteering from me.

IF the truth about Mr Salteri is true, and that like Skull he is so financially inept that the only way out is to sell your plate. It doesn't matter who you step on, and that includes hardworking blokes who happen to want to drive a taxi for a living. So if you and skull are only interested in profiteering and not in running a taxi - what you mean is you dont care who you screw, so long as your alright. Dinosaurs like you belong back in the Thatcherite era - and she was a selfish evil khant too. But there again your obviously not the greatest smartest person ever to own a taxi plate otherwise ye wouldnae be living in a cooncil hoose in Niddrie. And for those of you not aware of Niddrie, its like Toxteth/Mosside/St Pauls/Brixton take your pick, all full of nice people but with a minority who ruin it for everybody else - bit like the Edinburgh taxi trade really. I'd put in a load of smillies but the pair of you are pathetic pieces of selfish [edited by admin] it makes me sad.

cant see anyone paying 40k for a plate after 2day.

A question for you Mr TornCasualty

Q.have you asked the person concerned if the claims you have made about him selling his plate are true or just nasty gossip.

Well the basic premise of the whole restricted numbers shebang is profiteering.

Perhaps the best argument that can be mustered is that some are profiteering a bit more than others, but anyone who defends restricted numbers but accuses some of profiteering is a hypocrite.

Mr Thomson, correct me if I am wrong, but does the Salteri case not go against your ideology.
The profiteering from a free plate.
A non taxi driver being issued with a free plate.
Come on Mr Thomson, you can't have it both ways.

What does the Civic Government Scotland act 1982 say about who can or cannot apply for a license?

I'm not remotely interested in what conditions CEC place on licenses because more often than not such conditions are deemed unlawfull in a court of law. The only true legal test is that which is on the statute and there are many, many instances to support that?

what are you blithering about man, with incorporation.

give youreself a shake

mrs salteri has applied for a plate in her name.

so when it is finally granted by c.e.c , it will be in her name. doh

so if she wants to sell it then she sells it moron. were the fack you get she has to a brief holder just shows how stupid you really are.
do you think it would have went to court, if the council could have just said well you aint a brief holder so you cant have one.
what a monkey.

Skull - You've conspicuously ignored the question about your opinion on what IF Mrs Salteri's husband sells his plate. That would prove the case wasn't about deregulation, but profiteering. pretty much all your uinterested in too  :-o  :-o  :-o  :-o  :-o  :-o  :-o  :-o  :-o  :-o  :-o

Surprised? Shocked? Nah I thought no. Nobody here should be

so in youre opinion its wrong for salteri to profiteer(youre words).
but not wrong for others who sell plates to profiteer.

gonna explain youre thinking behind this.
becouse it looks to me that youre saying one rule for some and differant rules for the rest of us.

surely you dont mean that, do you ?

This numpty is stupid even by Edinburgh “Taxi Driver” standards. Makes you wonder how he passed his brief but not why he bought a plate.

What’s the bet he paid over 40K

His wee ar** must be knitting socks right now.

well he probably would not have past the same test that me and you sat many moons ago.
im pretty certain he got one of these new easy to get pay and you go briefs yeh the watered down version of the knowledge.
if hes one of the old crew, then he probably got it by way of a case of whiskey.

we know youre type torncasualty.

I expect the license applicants in this case will be writing to CEC later today and asking them for a time table in which to present a vehicle for test?

I also expect they will be sending copies of the letter to the Chairman of the licensing committee, Solicitor Mr Rhydian Davies and the Chief Executive of the Council. It would also be a good idea to send a copy of the letter to the press just to tidy things up. There's nothing councillors like worse than a little bit of bad press, especially when you mention them by name.

What the feck are you talking about?

Have a look around. The only ones profiteering are the ones ignoring the insurgence of the Ph with the exception to licensed qualified taxi drivers being denied a plate. Forty grand, and for what exactly? £300 for a seven night rental? The illusion of ownership? You have got to be having a laugh. Show me the increase in your profits, your control over your tariffs or vehicle choice, maybe even you running costs, not forgetting the Ph running amuck.

What the feck is it you don’t understand? Is this a driver’s joke that owners don’t get? The game is fecked. Pay who how much? I wouldn’t [edited by admin] on you if you were on fire.

I'll take my chances!!

Go kiss the council on the arse for your very existence you piece of sh**
