The profiteering from a free plate.
A non taxi driver being issued with a free plate.
Come on Mr Thomson, you can't have it both ways.

Ross
apparently you can though.

Why don’t you post on FB Ross? Too many pricks that don’t understand the argument, well here’s the bad news, we are right and you are wrong. Who says so, Sheriff Bowen, that’s who, dickhead, go feck yourself.

Tell me Ross, do you agree with the Sheriff Principles decision that Edinburgh Council broke the law by not carrying out their statutory duty?

lol this made me laffalot.

The problem with Alan G is that he has that many nicks on Fastblacks and a couple on here, that he makes up at least 50% of the contributers. I can't blame him for talking to himself under different nicks but to think no one knows its him, is laffable.

bloody hell the guys looking at it and still trying to convince himself that it only appears to be that way

As Bill states, at the moment, unless the council continue down the legal route open to them in their attempt to protect the public and the taxi trade from profiteers like these, a maximum of 5 extra plates may be issued.

dont know where you get 5 from,
protect the public ?
from what! a licenced taxi driver who wants his own drive,[edited by admin] off

Contrary to what others may think this is NOT de-restriction in any way, shape or form; it is purely down to the incompetence of individuals within the council's employ; officials who are charged with keeping councillors informed as to their legal obligations. Will those people be disciplined? Will they resign? I doubt it, but until we have some proper representation and dialogue with the council, we run the risk of our trade being vandalised again by a minority of fools.

this is strange i thought you thought the councils legal stance was correct ?
now you state that it was someones fault in the council that they didnt tell someone else.and alan if we were to believe anything you say then today would never have come would it

Claims of other applications already disposed of, or withdrawn, being resurrected are just groundless mischief-making.

really, are you sure

As for any new applications made now, the council is no longer vulnerable, being in possession of up to date information and having the situation at the airport under constant review in case of any new demand being unmet.

Admin

another fools view, why are they not vulnerable alan, do please tell

Still your usual articulate self, I see, Garry?
I note that you still fail to answer the questions raised though. Give us all a laugh and justify your support for

1. A non taxi driver being issued with a free plate.

2. The profiteering from a free plate.

when both of these issues are contrary to the ideology you normally espouse.

And while you're at it, tell us how a council cockup resulting in at most 5 new licences translates into victory and derestriction?

And it would be better still, if you could answer the questions yourself without your wee dug Ali barking for you and without insult (or is that too much to ask?)!!!

regards

Alan G

As for JD's little jibe, it merely shows his ignorance. I use one nick on TDO and I use the same one on Fasties in addition to the Admin (like dusty does on here, allegedly)
This is just another of his wildly inaccurate observations.

Perhaps if you had a better grasp of the English language you would understand the above.

5 is the number of outstanding applications and the public need protecting from the dropping standards that would ensue if derestriction arrived.

I think the council stance was right and my comment refers to the sheriff's apportioning of blame or was that too much for you to take in?

Claims of other applications already disposed of, or withdrawn, being resurrected are just groundless mischief-making.

Try thinking before rushing into a response on this. I am entitled to my opinion. It may differ from yours. That makes neither of us right or wrong.

I could have been a little harsher and called you a peping tom, or a thief, or an interceptor of other peoples mail? However, as you can see I refrained from doing that? lol

I see you have come on here to pick Mr Skulls brains by enquiring what his next move might be? Why don't you consult your crystal ball or ask Mr Diesel on your fastblacks site? He seems to have all the answers. Or your alter ego Mr Welkentface? He's another one with misguided perceptions. It would seem you are the ringmaster to a group of clowns, you are welcome to them all.

I have to inform you that it is illegal to link to this site or any other site without permission. I know you didn't know that when you posted a link to the Salteri document on this site but stealing TDO bandwidth or any other sites bandwidth for that matter is an offence. TDO pays for its bandwidth it does not get it free, you would do well to remember that.
