Hi There,
I am in the market for a data system and would like to know how many of you guys have had problems.
Points I would like to know about.
Did you lose drivers?
Did the system go in easily?
What was the data system provider like with training and support?
Does your system crash often?

Any other points I have missed, please feel free to inpart your knowledge and experience on me.

Cheers

Did not know there were any left on pen and paper.

first few weeks are terrible but with the same fleet increases of efficiency of 20% are easily achievable.

our software house got into a legal tangle with another software supplier and for a while progress on data was halted.

the support and training is good.

we did lose drivers all jockeys, all tried to return as they realised the grass was not greener on the other side, those we wanted did come back others,we did not want.(the system gives you access to earnings)

we have no regrets but we do have a less sressfull but unbearably cocky control staff who have had to have thier wings clipped, thier wage demands are a joke,

things are now moving fast in the data fields as a result we are having problems with control staff who love to feel they are indespensable, with these systems they are a lot less so.

This christmas brought home to one of ours that they are not quite as powerful as they thought.

Well,
we have long serving staff, and some of the best pay in the industry.
alas this can create stars.

but they come to work to do just that, the rules are laid down and I expect them to be stuck too.

I dont expect people to work as hard as myself, but I expect rules to be followed.
when they are not there can be a robust interview.

Whatsup Alex are you another that feels that staff should be mollycodled and get away with murder?

just remember drivers have to go out and earn the dispatchers wage.

though sometimes you would think it grows on trees.

What I do know is that happy operators can earn drivers fortunes. Whilst miserable cows can earn you next to nothing, if they sulk.

Give them an incentive i.e. big bucks if they take extra work, and the drivers earn extra bucks.

If I was earning say £50 a week more on average, with good operators, then I wouldn't mind paying an extra £10 a week for the girls.

Might be a little more if you get that bird who loves a bit of driver, every now and again.

Bitter and twisted as always Geoff.

Why don't you call him and ask?

Darling Richard would be able to confirm it for you as well. Do wish Gary a Happy New Year from me - ta.
