Broxi, one has to agree with you as im a realist, but i do still have hope for our boys, however it would be fair to say that with your statement about the arrests, did anybody see the clip on the news where some of the trouble started. It was clearly started by germans and when a chair was thrown by a german supporter, A copper went in and grabbed him and all he did was push him further back in to the crowd, however when the english supporter retalliated and threw a chair, well what do you know hes in the van and arrested. I think this speaks volumes as to the unfair treatment we get when abroad. Im not excusing it or condoning it in any way shape or form, I just think the authorities ought to treat the germans the same way as our lads

Did I miss something Skippy, just remind me, when did ENGLAND last lose a competitive game?

And when did Scotland last win one?

Gordon Brown says he loves us, even if you don't. But you can have him back too!!

Only three games away from the World Cup.

Australia have got further than you ever have.

And I'll bet you wish Beckham's Grandad was Scottish.

Typical english arrogance, you should be up there beside Motson, Big Ears and Wrighty, cant wait fore your excuses when it all go's tits up. The difference with us is we ACCEPT our level, we know that had we qualified the likes of Ghana and Ivoty coast would have tore the scottish team apart. Just before the Ecuador game on tv you lot were talking about record scores, finally after another inept performance it took a set piece goal from the one trick pony formally known as goldenballs to dispose of the mighty Ecuador. Still, good luck, keep believing, dont get arrested having a riot when it all falls to bits on saturday, dont add to the 20% of your support already in jail in Germany(500 out of an estimated 10'000)

Cheers Broxi

Yes, the English ARE arrogant. We have a lot to be arrogant about.

Are you admiting Broxi, that you aim low, to avoid dissapointment?

Now lets see what your neighbors think???,
there are 3 countries very close to you, 2 of which have there borders next to you and 1 across the water, and I will bet If you asked your close neighbors what they think you would be told a few home truths.
when ever England's supporter's go anywhere in the world there is always trouble and the rest of the world knows this, fair enough the team tries to win but with a bunch of yobs supporting them no thanks
Is it any wonder that the Scot's the Welsh and the Irish turn our backs on you, mind you we do that anyway even when not playing football    :P :P :P
The good thing about 1966 was your team played to win and the supporter's had their heads screwed on    :? :?

Yes, you had quite a "Party" at Wembley, when you made sure the home championships would be no more...

So how would you feel if everyday you were watching French, German or Argentinian television every day for example. Many English hate these countries with avengeance and do you think it would help or hinder things if you were watching their television etc all the time.

A good example on the ITV news last night, top story was an exclusve interview with Michael Owen about his leg injury, I feel for the guy but I'm not English, it's sports news not proper news and there are more important things going on in the world. It's the same with things like Rooney and Beckams metatarsals, who will be the next England manager, who Sven whatshisname is screwing now and who is screwing who at the FA.

Even if these things were to do with the SFA I'm quite sure they wouldn't be the headline news on the Scottish news, and wouldn't even make the national news at all.

This may seem fairly small beer, but years of this and constant mentions of 1966 and how good England's chances of winning every tournament since are ( ), and the average Scot just doesn't want the English team to do well, and it's not just a minority either. And many English feel the same way about the news treatment of things like the English football team, so if you include the national element then it just makes it worse.

Perhaps if the likes of the ITN news and the likes had a sense of proportion and realised that they are supposed to be the national news rather than the English news then things might be different, but until then the the English football team can't get thrashed hard enough.

Many Scots take a different view when it comes to other sports such as cricket, and this is perhaps because these other sports are not quite so "in your face" as football.

And it's not an anti-English thing either because I've lived in England for several years in the past and do not really see a lot of difference between the Scots and English, but things are different when it comes to the English football team.

As I said, I don't think we're really that different from anyone else, and it's just the particular circumstances of our two nations - if people who question this had been born in Scotland then they would probably feel the same - I'm sure that some English who've moved up here do :D

I did a wee test the other night, sat down with the intention of supporting England but it didnt last very long!!
When Ecuador hit the bar, i jumped out of my seat thinking it was a goal and when Becham scored i was swearing like a trooper!
I don't hate "THE ENGLISH" i just want them to get beat at anything they play!!!
Maybe if the media played it down a wee bit we might support England more!! ( but i doubt it)
getting a bit hungry now so will have to go and eat a few BELIEVE bars!!
sales down 80% in Scotland  think that tells the story! eh boys!!

Well of course you are entitled to your opinions and to be fair you do raise some good points, and at least they are being put across in a decent manner, i personally feel though that there could be a lot more harmony between the border countries, but then pigs might fly too  Still i wish you all well :-|

the scots dont hate the english its all to do with the way the press go on and on and on about 1966 and who england will play in the final (and thats 2 wks before the first match    ) you cant get all the way through the TV or radio coverage of any match with out england being talked about its a wee bit much you would have to agree.
i had to laugh the other day when the guy on the radio went on and on about how beckham should be taken off   then "BANG" he scores and the bloke is going on about how great he is and thats why he is in the team MAD TOTALY MAD if you ask me

i have quite a few english pals here in jock land and no one hates them i have been out drinking with them when they have had england football tops on and no one cares.

yesterday i had a guy in the cab who now works up here and he even said that the amount of programs on the TV about england and the 1966 world cup was a joke and he can see why we all get a bit p1issed off about it all.

the who thing is a bit like liverpool and everton or say celtic/rangers or hearts/hibs neither set of fans wants to see the other team win and its just the same with the england and scotland football teams IMO a good bit o fun

What gets me is the english obsession as to whether we support them or not.
Get on with supporting your own team.

And to quote John Gaunt of Talk Sport "stop your whinging you small minded bigots"

Talk Sport 1089mw Listen to that for a week. and maybe then you will understand why the rest of the UK won't support you.(except Horsby and Jacobs, very funny)

And here's an idea for the qualifying rounds for the next world cup.
Do away with the seeding.

All countries should be placed in one pot.

Lets see how easy it is for England to qualify with the likes of Italy, Germany and France all in their group.
