This again is good to see that Lincolnshire are doing there bit, however they do say that if your private hire then they have crb checks, and safety checks at regular intervals. They again forget to mention that you also get this and more from Vosa restricted operator licences, indeed the safety checks are every 10 weeks and you should also fill out a daily check sheet every day before your vehicle goes out.

Can i take it Captain that the post above is whats commonly known as the 7 day contract then, as this is what i presume a lot of limo ops are using to get away with licencing when for some reason or another a council or VOSA wont licence them.

Also can anyone please explain why then we bother to get licenced in the first place if this is the case and it looks so easy to do and so apparently untouchable :?

I now am also lead to believe that there is yet another system out there that has been tried and tested by a certain few which has VOSAS backing. The whole licencing issue to me seems to be flawed if indeed everyone can just use this contract as above

Oh and by the way i just need to add i know nothing about this newest system approved by VOSA, just to cover my A**E :?:

Sadly, NOT Lincoln. NE Lincolnshire/N Lincolnshire are two seperate counties, formed from the county formerly known as Humberside, which was, prior to 1973 part of Lincolnshire. Think Scunthorpe, (North) Grimsby (North East) Confused? So are those that live there!

Well said Kermit, if the council either won't or can't issue a licence it is equally their responsibilty to ensure they do something positive about it. after all the ratepayers are paying. I would hope that N.Lincs have a scheme to licence limo's or they might end up with egg on their face.
As for VOSA they wouldn't know their A**e from their elbow.

Contract law is a minefield and a very specialist subject. I wonder if these people who hire out limos and the likes of Pink ladies, really understand their liabilities and obligations under such contracts.

I would like to see more of these contracts posted in detail especially the one used by Pink Ladies. Under normal circumstances the designated vehicle which failed to turn up under such a contract and resulting in the contractee having to use other means to get from A to B then Pink ladies would no doubt be liable for the charges incurred by the contractee.

My own opinion is well known and that I believe the activity to be unlawfull but if it was lawfull then such a scenario would probably be a breach of contract.
