HEADLINE: Basildon: Taxi service set for major boost

DATELINE: Echo, Basildon

TAXI users will be able to wait for their rides in more comfort and safety and may soon be travelling in bus lanes.

Extra taxi shelters are to be put up at Basildon and Pitsea railway stations, while Wickford High Street will get a shelter and a new taxi rank.

Other ranks in the area will get improved lighting, information and facilities.
