I don't want to mention any particular Systems company as I have had dealings with more than just one over the last few years. But they all have seem to have the same things in common.
1) Their sales pitch is great.
2) Their willingness to demostrate their sytems working is confined to Star Companies.
3) Their back up is hesitant
4) Their lack of interest once they have your money is deplorable.
But what gets up my nose more than anything is the way they talk down to you as though we are meant to know everything they do. I wouldnt exactly call myself dumb but if I was able to sit down and take in all the technical garbal that they speak and expect us to know before using their systems then I wouldnt be working in the Taxi Business in the first place.
If any staff of system suppliers read this remember weve paid you to guide and help us cases of malfuction and breakdown. A little more slowness and explanation goes a long way in understanding how to rectify faults on our own without the need to keep calling hotlines or emergency mumbers. On more than one occasion i've had to sit down and logically sit down and work out the problem for myself.
Has anybody else come across the same attitudes or have I been unlucky
PS Some of these suppliers must use younger non cab experienced people to write their programs. I know a program can't be taylor made for each individual cab firm but I feel that 90% of the programs are just right but the 10% that is wasted could be more suitably utilised to allow more flexabilty for individual company needs
