I was approached by a Pink ladies driver today asking could i change a tenner because she'd ran out of £1 coins, i changed it and clearly heard her say to her customer "thats £4.20 please" and give her the change.

Whilst i was writing her reg number and time down to query it with the LO, my passenger asked what i was doing and when i told her she said she pays cash every time she uses them.
Isnt this part of there get out clause, not taking cash bookings?

btw, i only changed it to see if she was charging cash.

As they are saying that are working not only outside of the 1976 act, but also outside the exemption, who knows?

As I've mentioned before we have a local cab firm which is running an unplated limo(7 seater) driven by licensed hackney drivers I wonder what the position on that is because they are also doing cash jobs
