It is often claimed on here that surveys are a waste of time and their findings are almost always questioned by the main posters on here.

How then can the same main posters continue to use the OFT report as a legitimate study when it was little more than a National survey.

All of the main posters claims about survey inaccuracy were confirmed by Gweneth Dunwoody and the DFT.

I don't find it strange that people support a survey which supports their viewpoint, but isn't it hypocritical to then state that surveys are always otherwise flawed if the results do not.

I don't believe that surveys need to be undertaken at all within our industry, surely everyone within the industry should be able to determine exactly what is required from both HC and PH services through dialogue and debate.

I think all surveys are a waste of time and money, as OFT confirmed in their report.

If they lead a council do de-limit, they are still a waste of time and money. Same if they don't.

So what your saying Sussex is that any survey is flawed and cannot be relied upon to provide any kind of factual evidence to be relied upon when forming or changing policies.

Thats just the point ................... the OFT confirmed that surveys are a waste of time and money.

Hang on a minute ................. thats means that the majority of the OFT's work THEY consider to be a waste of time and money.

The mind boggles.

So you gauge your success on the amount of people you pi$$ off.

No wonder you need to include a disclaimer mate, your local officials may allow you to do what you want .............. but I think the GMB leadership may well be tightening your reigns soon.

B. Lucky

Listen, if you have been threatened I very much doubt its any one on here.

Such slants and accusations against your fellow forum members are really beyond the pale.

Now would that be a report where they paid survey people and spent £250K achieving zero?

Those are admirable views although I tend to disagree, I think surveys need to look at everything in the integrated transport system, not just taxis but PH, Bus services, train services etc and it should be all part of a local transport plan.

Whats the point in the anarchy we have now

Our LTP is a disgrace .......................... a 100+ page document which contains less than half a page for both HC and PH.
