Not really no, the police have been told they cant use the bus lanes as they're no longer PH.
Just waiting for the LGMPA to be ok'd then they're fooked.
Nothings been done about them taking cash for jobs, even though they state they dont.

All the old bidies book em, they're welcome to them, you get 4 drop off's all within the first mile!!

As for the licence problem, we've got more to worry about. Their employing another LO to help out, so you can bet they'll put up the fee's to pay for it!

The company is nothing short of a joke. They seem to have gone right against their word.

Pink Ladies was supposedly set up to direct women away from using unlicensed taxis.

It would seem that they are now operating as unlicensed taxis.

Definitely a strange situation this one.

Self-regulation never works. You get conglomerates like BT etc saying we don't need a regulator we are better left to regulate ourselves. The top and bottom of it is, that the only regulation that works is the type that's handed down by parliament. Thankfully soon pink ladies and everyone else, will be subject to the same law as us and that can only be a good thing.

The whole 'Pink ladies' thing seems completely absurd. I mean, as far as anyone else is concerned, you must be licensed - either as HC or PH. This company though just seems to please themselves and have decided to operate without a license.

They seem to be a law unto themselves.

Something needs to be done. Either they should be licensed as a PH firm or they should be taken to court for operating without a license. Just as you or I would be if we bought a pink Kangoo and went out on the streets.

What gets me though, more than anything is the fact that they ahd a write up in every paper at the start (free advertising at its best) saying how they were the solution to the problem of unlicensed taxis. Now they are seemingly going against this completely.

I'm not naive, I do realise there are problems with unlicensed drivers, but these sorts of companies do make it out that even licensed PH are a danger to the travelling public. Whilst I am involved in the HC side of the trade, we do need to realise that there are plenty of licensed PH firms that are reputable and customer friendly. It does annoy me when people bring down PH companies or the trade as a whole.

The car in the photo was in Warrington in August and was PH plated.

They all started of plated, but as they're now due for theyre 2nd test it isnt being done.
This problem started before they did! The first kangoo's went in for test in their grey colour, they were PASSED before they were sprayed pink.
You or i try that, try going in for test with a different colour door after a bump and see whats said?
The whole mess has been left to fester by LO's for to long, just hoping it would go away because they dont know they're own rules.
The whole LGMPA needs re writing for the 21 century.
Any town/city in the country can be brought to a standstill in an hour by Taxi's/PH, yet we're treated like second class citizens who dont matter.

PUT IT IN BLACK AND WHITE FOR GODS SAKE!

Up here I believe they came in a white colour and hand a wrap fitted over them.

Section 75(1)(B) was abused before the pink ladies arrived by many other businesses, thankfully it is soon to disappear, however I would still like to see a prosecution, because everybody with any sense knows these vehicles are openly flouting the law.

Just had a read at their website as I was curious as to what/who they were. (Nothing of the kind I know of in Glasgow or even Scotland.)

It seems to be a 'members only' service. So does that mean anybody could start up a small company with a few cards, hand out a few membership slips and taxi people around.

None of the ones I've seen in Plymouth are sporting a plate.

I think I'll go buy a car up the auction and call myself the pink gent and run unlicensed.

The whole two i've seen in London were displying their 'baby on board' stickers, so I assume the drivers must have registered as Minicab drivers.

News in brief

All-female 'taxi' service fights for survival
An all-female "taxi" service is fighting for survival due to proposed changes in the law. Pink Ladies is a members-only club with female drivers and passengers who use top-up cards rather than cash to pay for their trips in an effort to provide women with a secure form of transport. Started last year in Warrington and operating in a number of towns, the service is under threat from proposed changes to a section of the Local Government Act under which the company operates. Pink Ladies' founders are now working with politicians to find a solution to the problem over licensing.
