 Post subject: TX2 water leak!
PostPosted: Sun Oct 29, 2006 6:29 am
Has anyone ever had a problem with a water leak into the cab of a TX2?

I think that the water is coming in via the seal around the top light but it could be the screen I suppose! Where ever its coming from I want it to stop! Answers on a soggy cabbie; sorry I meant answers to a soggie cabbie!

Shucks - thats it; stuck in a damp wet cab and sneezing! Its flu!!! Obviously! In need of sympathy (and yes I know where I'll find it in a dictionary so don't!!!)

Hugs or an in cab umbrella greatly accepted ...... aaacccchhhooooooo!

(does "I'm female" help with the hugs?????)

The TX 1 &TX 2 both have the same problem it is caused by a leaking top hat( for hire sign) if you look at it you'll think it is perfect, but it is not, the damage will probably have been caused by going through a car-wash, it is plastic, two pieces joined together,
The only solution is to have a new one fitted with a new seal,

You're lucky, I drive a fairway and when it rains I'm wet up to the knee on my right leg where it flows in and off the fuse box.

He would be surprised how many drivers in Sefton work with a bin bag around their right leg when it's raining

aaaaccchhoooooo! I take it when the "mechanic" attempted to change the bulbs in my top sign by removing the said seal he had something to do with this? Grrrrrrrr!

Please let it stop raining cos I've got that much water in the cab now that the switched off interior light remains on! And its freezing even with the heating turned up, and it feels damp and aaaacchoooooo!

I got a free valet today, that should do it until next year.

Ready to part with that idle cab of yours yet for a decent price?

A lovely bright pink Xsara Picasso from my local dealer delivered within 24 hours with 8 miles on the clock! And thank you for the compliment my cute lil butt is more than comfy and dry now. First FREE service within the first week even got a FOC hot choccie and a bacon sarnie! Back on the road within the hour! My back pain has totally vanished and my left knee is now back to itsnormal size without having the weight of the bleedin TX clutch!

Drive a purpose built again? NEVER

I'm just hoping that the Free plates for free new WAV vehicles will have created enough vehicles for there to be no need for all Hacks to be WAV - failing that I'll just go PH like everyone else is saying they will. With an overnight drastic cut to far below demand the LA's are going to have to re-think. Don't get me wrong I am totally for WAV and the rights of the disabled (lets not forget my own son has disabilities!) BUT if all cabs were for example TX11 and E7 then there are a lot of elderly people that would be denied access as they simply can not access these vehicles due to their disabilities. Don't know what the answer is. Hack - WAV, PH saloon would work in theory but would cause uproar with people not being able to hail a cab due to their personal disabilities.

To put local situation in perspective - 170 hacks; 18 of which are WAV, of which only half a dozen will take w/chair jobs; 170 PH's not allowed to be WAV ................. theres something wrong somewhere! And I've strayed off thread again!
