Hi all
N plate Fairway Auto
Basically after about 3-5 hours the box gets very lazy, wont change up gears very easy, seems to hang around in first alot, before this its works lots better but not perfect (when its cooler i suppose).
Anyone know anything about them at all?
Any help would be great as its a right pain!
Cheers
first job is to run and warm up transmission, it is reckoned to need around 10 miles to warm up a auto box transmission, check fluid level on dipstick when at working temp
Its hard to pin point the fault without seeing it in action
I used to repair auto transmissions on industrials lift truck years ago, they are really so simple inside that auto box
It sounds to me a couple of things
You say they have changed the oil, but have they cleaned or changed the filter in the autobox sump, it seems to me that other than that it could be the brake band adjustment, front or rear band or a leaky servo seal when it reaches working temperature
you do not mention anything like slipping in drive
so first have the level checked
next check the kickdown cable, have a look at your kick down cable see if its connected
if you can write down exactly what is happening maybe I can tell you
