Andy,
Waiting lists do stink, whats wrong with interviews where you can spell out your plans?

but the last part was wholy vindictive and that cannot be fair or reasonable and councils must be that.

and b4 you say but if they sell a plate......thats nothing to do with the council.

Well if you only go by driver's years in the trade, then there is nothing stopping a driver getting a plate one year, then selling it the next day, and then getting a plate the next year, then selling it straight away...........................

I can't believe you would support that. :? :? :? :?

depends,

besides I think it ought to be open access anyway, qualitive control.

And out of the hundreds of thousands of words spoken on TDO, TTF 1 and 2 etc etc, perhaps those couple of dozen sum it up.

Nah that would never work, unless I get one other than the one I've got.

It's ironic that those who complain about traits in one person's post quite often post in a manner which is often charachterised by the same traits, often displayed to a significantly greater degree. Take your recent post, Mr Angel:

Actually I'm giving up on the trade all together.

The laws governing it are antiquated to the point that none can be enforced without someone screaming "foul" and threatening to take court action.

When I first started there was a certain ammount of unity, un-written rules were adhered to and whether you liked someone personally or not if you saw him in bother you stopped to lend a hand.

I'm a dinosaur when it comes to ideals connected to this trade, a traditionalist if you like, and I can't bear to see it become a part time money spinner for those earning a living elsewhere or those with emerald eyes of envy cast on those who haven't got what others have.

I know I get exited, I know sometimes I lose the plot a bit, but thats only because I give a [edited by admin], others that don't now out number people like me and maybe now its their time, I don't think I could adopt that kind of attitude to this trade which I once saw as a decent profession.

This trade ended when the compensation culture entered.

Do what I want or I'll take you to court.

Its a very sad state of affairs.

Quite right Mr Angel.

Take the T&G man in the Wirral, for example. Or those at Castle Point.

The sad thing is that the T&G seemed to be encouraging them to throw money at a lost cause.

The continuance to revert to an anti T&G standpoint only clarifies this sites position.

Did you know Feb 2nd is Groundhog Day, Mr Angel?

You can spin it how you want, but after two years and maybe half a million words posted on various forums, I don't really think my position needs clarified.

Dusty :)

I am very clear on YOUR views Mr Bin, maybe reminding me of groundhog day should have reminded you of all the words YOU wrote on how MY views relected the motive of the two sites I have been involved in.

So at last a clear admission, this site is anti T&G, and I suppose we can now move on.

The site isn't anti anything really, it just that a number of posters are anti the stupidity of a large chunks of the T&G's Cab Section.

What would you prefer, bland comment and lies, or truthful expression? :?

If the commments came from members that would have been accepted without question. The problem comes when the administration make such comment, and I have read posts elsewhere on the "net" where you made the same allegations against other sites administrators, that is of being "anti" or "pro" certain sections.

I think certain people are just reaping what they have previously sown.

Yes, I think it's just more double standards.

I can't remember many objections to the fact that administrators had views on other forums, it was the views that were objected to - but if you can think of any past objections to the admin having views then please disclose them.

What I did object to (for example) was being banned from TTFUK for expressing the same views as I do on here.

It's just like the fact that some don't like our frontpage carrying opinions, whereas every other publication in the land, big or small, does so.

I think you're just anti-this site, and anti-me.

Well I obviously hold views contrary to your own, but apart from that I just don't know what you mean in your first paragraph.

As I've said continuously, you can spin things as the site being anti-T&G, but I think this is a bit simplistic.

But if that's the only argument you can come up with, then so be it.
