John,
Of course the question was rhetorical. In answer to your question there are many things I know but they are outnumbered by the things I do not know.

lol ok here's what the judge directed.

I have laid out the time table of the court events previously. If you recall, the Judicial review took place on March 30th. The council never showed at the initial apllication, when they did go to court to have the order overturned they were refused. Macpherson awarded BJ costs up to the 18th March. There were no costs awarded for the actual Judicial Review on the 30th March, or indeed after the 18th March. Those are the facts if anyone tells you any different they are mistaken.

I'm off out now to try and earn a penny or two.

By the way, I suppose you know who's going down to London to talk to the Governments Solicitors about this fiasco with a view to getting it stopped?

Best wishes.

John Davies
Manchester.

John,
I do not know who is going to London. As I said earlier my main concern is Airportcarz, they are the biggest threat to us all. But I am in the minority.

lol Gordon. PC and GS from the TODA. They have an audience with the opposition legal team.

I don't know who else is going I think its just the two of them, maybe there's one more. They seem to think they have a good chance of stopping the RRO from being initiated. Personaly I have my doubts.

Best wishes.

John Davies.

First mention of T&G within thread for quite some time.

The various points raised were being discussed without personal insult or referances to any organisation.

The administration saw another opportunity to slate the T&G and confirm the bias of the site.

Let me remind you of what you said Angel:

"Do what I want or I'll take you to court.

"Its a very sad state of affairs"

My point was that the T&G seem more than prepared to resort to litigation when they can't get what they want, thus the double standard inherent in your comment was the first thing I thought off.

Have a read at their OFT response for example, or ask the NWTA or whatever it's called nowadays about litigation.

But by your reckoning I'm not allowed to mention this. There's no insults, just drawing attention to your 'do as I say, not as I do' standpoint.

Again your post just seems to be trying to deflect attention from your inconsistent approach.

Can't we stick to the issues Angel, we used to manage reasonably well in the past.

Yes, I was deemed a trouble maker for saying the unthinkable.

After a couple of days, as I recall, but that wasn't your direct responsibilty at that time so I'm not blaming you.

Then all of a sudden, because you have nothing to add to such an exchange, you decide to resort to attacking a group that wasn't mentioned. You make your "anti" comments at every opportunity (learning slowly to spell) and as an administrator of this site that can be assumed to be the standpoint of it.

During your time on TTFUK you yourself calimed that the site shared the views of the administration and deemed it "anti" just about everything in attempt to give justification for your right to give your views without them being contradicted, as when they were you and your pal Sussex Man launched into a personal attack on whoever dared to question them.

I had thought that we had put this well and truly to bed, the simple fact of the matter is that your hatred is more deep rooted than anyone else's and you can't accept the fact that other people have changed opinions or become more understanding to other peoples views, through the knowledge they have gained through sites like these.

I just can never get this attitude, if you or the T&G make a point it's OK, but if I do it's spun as being anti-this, that and the next thing, or a personal attack or suchlike. My main standpoint is anti-license quotas, you can spin that how you want, but it's not the same as being anti-T&G, for example, I would encourage anyone to join the union generally, but from my point of view the cab section is self-serving and hypocritical.

Your problem Angel, is that you can dish it out, but can't take it in return, which is not unknown on forums like this.

BTW, I'm not a hate kind of person, so I take your comment as a personal insult, but I don't think you're a hate person either.

Could you give me a specific example demonstrating my hate?

If I've attacked someone personally, then it's in reply to their abuse or whatever, and is invariably quite mild compared to what I've received.

Any examples of this you'd like to share?

Everytime I ask you for specific examples to back up your accusations, answer there is none!!!

If the 'managed growth' proposal worked, then perhaps you might have a sensible middle ground. But it doesn't, the existing HC trade cannot see the wood for the trees. They fight tooth and nail even when a survey says plates are needed.

Big mistake, very big mistake.

The "managed growth" policy would be controled by the local authority and would look to increase provision if a un-met demand was identified. Representatives from the trade should be consulted prior to a decision about an increase in numbers but that decision should be made ultimatly by the licensing authority.

Do you still stand by that statement mick "that the decision should be left to the local licensing authority"?

Quote:
Managed growth does NOT need to be managed by the T&G or any other representative body, but the current plateholders as well as anyone looking to enter the trade should be able to expect a decent standard of living from it.

This statement rather conflicts with the one made to Sussex when you said "the world owes no one a living".

Do we take it that what you really meant was the world owes no one a living unless you happen to own a Hackney carriage license?

Of course we all have a vested interest Alex, because at the end of the day we all want, not only to protect what we have, but ultimatly to have more.

Protect what you have regardless of how it impacts on others? Is that what you really mean? The means to better ones self lies firmly in you're own hands, surely you don't need to rely on a third party to restrict others from giving you a little competition. As you have already said, "you don't expect the world to owe you a living".

I'm sure everyone is aware of my opinion, but opinions can change when workable solutions are suggested. I'm concerned about my own business, for the first time in 12 years, I can't see a full time future for very much longer up here in Gods country and its a position I wouldn't want anyone else to be in.

More needs to be changed, and I hope things change soon.

Bleak picture you paint up there in Gateshead. Is somebodey trying to take your business away from you, or is it the fact that the competition for street work is not restricted anymore?

Our largest PH operator was supposidly going to plate 40 Fiat Doblos, I asked one of their senior managers about this at a recent working party meeting and he laughed, "no Mick" he said " the rumour mongers have got it wrong again, we're putting 50 on".

Is this private hire firm the same one you tried to crawl into bed with in order to restrict hackney carriage numbers?

I have nor have I ever had any intention of crawling into bed with anyone other than my wife.
