Skull, I understand what your saying.
Picture this, 2 car job, your pick up is a £50 fare, the second car's job is a £5 fare, the other car nicks your job because it's £50, would you moan, after all the other driver is only trying to earn a living.

I my experience, the people who moan about stroke pulling are the biggest stroke pullers themselves.

No offence meant.

I understand, in those circumstance I would not be chuffed, but you can't blame anyone for cherry-picking. Nicking someones job on a two car job is a different matter.

I think Dr T will find the chap known as skull extremely interesting, I would advise him to eat more, his picture is nothing but bones, the poor chaps wasting away.

MR T. let's get something straight. You depend on those around you to, think, you and CC are setting some sort of standard for the trade. Of course you and CC only have the trade at heart, and not your own self-interest. Driver's should Look up to the likes of you, and aspire to be just like the CC's and Mr. T's of the taxi trade. You need keep them dependent on you, for their opinions and employment, or else where would you be? The truth is, without them, you and your chum, are nothing.

In short, you want to shape the trade in you're image to the benefit of you.

Now that's fair enough, just don't expect everyone to believe your pi*h.

You can fool some of the people.... Now save your crap for those who want to be lead by the nose.

Skull, I do not know what tablets you are on, but I would give them a rest for a few days, they seem to be making you depressed, the only person who comes across with an ego problem is yourself, you seem to have a low esteem of yourself, which obviously creates an impression in your mind that orther people obviously have a greater opinion of themselves, Go for long walk in the country and leave the tablets at home , ps I don't depend on anyone that way they never let me down...

Mr T I think you should have a good look around. Without the driver's to drive your taxis you are up a gum tree my auld son. You want to crank up rentals and plate values to suit you - a false market just like up here in Edinburgh. I have no problem with your motives. I just think you should stop trying to fool everyone that it's 'all for the good of the trade'.

This means, tell it how it is.

You and you're chum don't need to hide behind the 'all for the good of the trade' routine, it's just not necessary. We all know what you are up to. You and Wayne could not hide your egos or motives if you wanted to.

Try taking a holiday from you're super cabby complex you might find it very refreshing?

The way it is Mr Skull is that the private hire trade are more professional and are continuously growing, and eventually will control the whole of the market and no matter what you do you will not stop them, and after everything you have said about the free market, what right do you have to even try. but it will not worry me nor will it come as a surprise. I like that bit about the egos , so if I disagree with you I have a ego problem at least it makes a change..

 why take a holiday when you enjoy what you do

The point is Mr. T, if you can't beat them, join them, or at least play by the same rules. If the Edinburgh Taxi Trade de -restricts the PH would be decimated. The opportunity for Ph driver's to sit the knowledge and jump ship would be to much. I know Ph driver's waiting to see what happens in Edinburgh. In the event they open up the market, they fully intend to sit the brief and get their own Hack. I don't see a problem with this. Unfortunately, the 'Businessmen owner' brigade only want hiked rentals and plate premiums. The status quo is killing their market, but they don't care as long as they have an abundance of driver's. Edinburgh is still in the position where the Ph could be brought to it's knees. I would agree however that even this might not stop the rise of the Ph. But there is one thing for sure, do nothing, and it's end of story.

Quality Controls Mr. T, it's the only way forward.

The only reason the Ph are more professional, is because they have to be. With the rise of new technologies like Sat Nav, the Ph are running away with the market, but the owners only care about the owners, and not the market.

The owners in Edinburgh, are actually advocating the customer use buses, and Ph, rather than increase their own fleet.

These guys are mad, don't lose your work, why not give it away.

Which ever way you go you lose because neither of the options in the long term will benefit you, usually a private hire company is owned and run by one or two people they make the decisions, they accept the burden of cost, they accept they might lose, and rightly so if they succeed they make the profit, but that profit is totally theirs.

The only way drivers and owners could go forward on an equal bases regarding more money in their pockets, would be for the whole trade to form one radio company with every driver and owner being equal, what you suggest would eventually flood the trade, the ones with the most money would survive and the rest would drown  ..... it's always the way, you just never hear their stories..... eusasmiles.zip
