here in crewe we pay £330 a year for our test its once a year a total rip off if you ask me and its going up to £338 in april (115 h/c 36 saloon car 79 WAV) plate value if your lucky saloon car 5K wav free.

Of course its a rip off, but there will be those who will tell you that councils know best, so perhaps I can offer you life membership of the "councils don't know best club"? Of which I am the most voiciferous member. lol

Ask your council to consider implementing higher standards of quality controls on drivers. The delectable Gwyneth Dunwoody is your MP and she reckons she knows a thing or two about Taxis since she chaired the Transport select committee hearing in 2004. The problem you have with Dunwoody is that she is also on record as saying councils know best so it looks like that 330 pounds is just going to get higher and higher and higher, because they all know best? lol

You have a statutory right of objection to any vehicle license increase, so object when it's advertised.

At least then the LO will have to do a report to committee for them to consider any objections. Then you and your colleagues can ask why you are being charged X and your neighbours are only charged Y.

Of course if Y is dearer than X then keep your gob shut. :wink:
