Can anyone tell me how much a second hand 3 year old Auriga Siruis computer system is worth? Package includes 6 terminals, main computer, standby computer (never used), data control computer, autobook, admin and GPS.

Hate to tell you this but I struggled to give away my databoxes.

And the rest went straight in the skip.

The problem is Laura that any computer equipment that's three years old has very little value, irrespective of what you paid for it. Also, anyone that bought it would probably be told by Auriga to replace it because if it starts to break down it may be seen as an "Auriga fault" and they certainly wouldn't want that. Good luck anyway!

Bill :)

Hi Laura,

Apart from the terminal units and maybe a couple of the cards out of the computers there is nothing else that is worth any value at all. If you have changed systems you should have just traded it in and at least got something for it.

You could always donate teh computers to a registered charity and tell your accountant as this may help you get a tax break as its a donation.

What did you do with the rest of the kit you had in the cars and what system did you change over to?

I still have the CT3000 as i only updated to Evo. Not sure if i want to upgrade to CT4000's as i've had a mixed opinion on them. Can anyone who uses CT4000 give me their opinion? Thanks

Laura

I have to ask, I can't resist.

Why did you upgrade to Evo if you weren't sure about using the CT4000's.

Surely ............... no I will leave it there.

My intentions were to gradually upgrade the whole fleet to CT4000's however since upgrading the office equipment i have heard various reports on the ct4000's.

Expensive decision then. The talk about the CT4000 has been on here for 3 years or so.

I think their are many good reasons to upgrade from sirius to evo & u dont have to upgrade to the ct 400 data units as many big fleets across the country have proved hows ur cordic running Tom any new features?

Equally, some big companies are moving to Autocab and Cordic Labraiz.

Cordic is doing fine for me thanks. The latest upgrade was more focused on things like text back etc, not really what I need.

Tom remember the thread about the closest car to the job well u knw that
the auriga system works with the bidding table so its almost the closest car to the job but not like the cordic system which is the closest car to the job but wait i was looking at the autocab system & that works with the fastest driver to bid for the job so it is the fastest finger on the bid screen i thought it was really strange for a company like autocab not to have developed a better system as we were doing the same 10 yrs ago with the ct 2000s the tin boxes which im sure tom u still keep for sentimental value

Never ever done that 'bidding' thing Labraiz.

What did change with Cordic and closest cab was good.

As with all system you have a call off listing of zones. So if a job was waiting in Zone A the system would look for an available car in that zone and if none were found it would then search a list of alternative calloff zones in a perscribed order.

What Cordic now does is, if no car is free in the actual zone the job is in, it will search through all the nominated call off zones and decide on the closest car in all of them.

Hard to explain on the net, but far more efficient.
