What are you calling the cab trade? Those who can freely use public Taxi ranks, or those who can't?

Without sounding too corrosive could you perhaps enlighten us with one or two of your achievements with regard to the Taxi trade, or anything else you care mention? Perhaps you might count exiting your mothers womb as your most momentous achievement? Who knows?

Regards

JD

Lol I've not done anything special for cab trade apart from work in it - but then I don't take cheap shots at those who do put themselves out to look after the trade's interests - & by the trade I mean the ones who actually want to make a decent living from it .......not just scratching a living because of too many vehicles and not enough punters...............its ok for fat cat lawyers - they just exploit situations for their own financial gain & & anyhow whats my mother got to do with this???

Thats fine, but what about the other guy? It seems we got two postings in the space of a few minutes.

We only posted the NCC press release once I think you have us at a dissadvantage? lol

Whats the NTTG position on excluding 60% of the Taxi trade from the main Taxi rank in Town?

Regards

JD

Sorry about that - I thought I was on there first.

Re excluding taxis from the rank - I would say it's illegal, but why don't you email the Chair of the NTTG - she's an LLB(Hons) you know............ chair@nttg.org.uk

Regards

Gezzer
I would like to congratulate Ms Con, for the wonderful hackney trade, we have in Liverpool, after all she sits on most, of the licensing committee meetings. She must accept the praise.
A city fleet with loads of L, M, N reg cabs, all in my opinion un road worthy,
Cherry picking out of control, kids getting ripped off left right and centre. Oh and the violence fri and sat nights , no cabs you see . Thats calmed down a bit with 24 hour drinking .
. 320 pounds, for a settle, for a long collar.
Fares, some of the highest in the country
And 55000 plus , for a plate.
Delta, converging on Liverpool like a plague off locus.
She really is a super star . Chair nttg      You deserve her . Gezzer is that one of those things, that spouts a load of crap into the air. Regards streetcars .

You also forgot to blame her for the fact that Labour is in power

sounds a bit like you're sucking on sour lemons streety - ex driver or what........ps forgot to blame her for the war in Iraq too lol!! :-({|=
I note your not saying any of the above is not true. If she helps the licensing committee, make all there decisions , then she must expect to take some of the flack. She can not expect ,to hide in the shadows and no will notice, the [edited by admin] up there making in Liverpool. But as long as the big boys have quantity controls, she and they dont give a [edited by admin] . What were at war! , i did not know that . I thourght we invaded and kicked the [edited by admin] out of ill equiped, ill trained , poor arabs . Says alot about you if you think we went to war.   streetcars

so tell us all then mate - just what have you ever done for the cab trade apart from mocking people who give their time??
You tell me what you have done for the cab trade. I will tell you what , I have done . But i will tell you this . I did not get a load of plates , from a relative who got them for F A . Then spend a life time, convincing KHs , that no one else should get a free plate . That is some ones only claim to fame .     streetcars

:-({|= :-({|= :-({|=

I just wanted to add to the biggest quote box I have ever seen.

B. Lucky

If streetcars wants more plates..... I've got an idea:

Instead of the Police prosecuting (occasionally) illegal cabs, they have a questionnaire.... the Policeman asks 4 questions, and if the illegal cabbie gets 3 out of 4 questions right, he gets a licence issued on the spot. I suggest the following questions....1 Do you have an MOT 2 Do you have a driving licence 3 Do you know where the station is and 4 Do you know your arse from your elbow. A fair proportion of them should be able to manage 3 out of 4 - what do you think. I may suggest this to the NCC to cure the problem of illegal cabs. \:D/ \:D/

Sounds like the majority of cab drivers in Manchester. They don't know their azz from their elbow either.

If that's your view then surely de-limitation is the best way for all 100% of drivers to earn a decent living, not just the few that own plates.

If you increase your drivers standards and get rid of the dross, and increase your vehicle standards and get rid of the sheds, then the future will be bright.

Unless of course you 'own' dozens of plates.

Are you that stupid, you think multi Liverpool plate holders, are putting them selfs out for the trades, interest. It is very much for in there own interest . If you had tens of thousands of pounds of Plates, which you got for F A , under threat .You would be trying to stop the rot even if ment telling lies ,sticking your nose into far off places . You got it in one, ask the any 3,000 drivers in Liverpool, why they are scratching around, top of the list ,they will say rents, being payed to greedy, multi plate holders . Why any one in Oldham would listen to some one from Liverpool . is over my head . You realy beleive all that crap. double shift, bolllox. Streetcars

My sentiments are that, anyone who achieves anything of note is perhaps worthy of congratulations. I congratulated Mrs Connolly on what I saw as an achievement for herself. I don't think that my congratulations express anything other than the fact that she may have bettered herself?

She probably has a long way to go in the field of licensing law but I'm sure she will benefit from the information contained on this website. The limitations outside of this website are well known, therefore if she really wants to educate herself on licensing matters then sooner or later she will consult this website either as a lurker or perhaps even a contributor.

JD

Why does the sole content of this NTTG website consist of only one page? And that one page is dedicated to the NTTG press release? Should you guys not be broadcasting some sort of message to the national Taxi trade informing them of events that might have an affect on their lives? I think you owe the Taxi trade a little more than one page, don't you?

I said the same thing to Wayne Casey four years ago about the NTA website, maybe in four years time we will see some change to the NTTG website?

I'm afraid an LLB Hon is only the first rung on the ladder to fame. In order to climb the dizzy heights of TDO she is going to need a lot more than that? Is that why Mrs C has shied away from crossing swords with our resident rapier like witicist namely TDO?

If she needs a little titillating we can perhaps accommodate her in that respect? But first she will have to show us her bone fides.

Because they are only concerned with one issue.

So Mrs Connolly is a LibDem member then, and isn't Liverpool CC LibDem controlled?

That's interesting
